Artist Statement

"I left the fallow wheat fields of my childhood to discover the barren oil fields of theirs. My growth as an artist synchronized with my growth as an activist. Texture and color have always been my motivation but now the process is coupled with my desire for change. I utilize most traditional printmaking techniques to tell my story. A slow narrative, whose aim is to bring peace and culpability back to the forefront in a country that’s lost its’ sense of itself.

I started www.saddercity.com for artists like myself who are fed up with our country as it stands. I hope to someday be a part of a collective that brings honest media to people through the arts. Let the sum of our parts equal the love in out hearts. " - Daniel Waldron, 2008
